If you long for a wonderful English garden, look no further than this installation Adrian Bloom created at the Kendall-Jackson Wine Center in Santa Rosa, California. At this site, Adrian dramatically demonstrated how to create an estate garden on a small scale.

Bloom delights in showing people how to make the most of small spaces, and literally in one day, he transformed a 4,200 square-foot-space into a dramatic entry garden showcasing Blooms of Bressingham and other noteworthy perennial plants. Kendall-Jackson enjoys an outstanding reputation for quality and contains a celebrated five-acre organic culinary garden, which attracts visitors from around the world. The Santa Rosa garden was the first-of-its-kind Blooms of Bressingham® demonstration garden, installed in February, 2002.

The garden provides an opportunity to see a large number of perennial plants growing in a real garden setting, as well as demonstrating their combinations in unique ways. Bloom selected a Mediterranean design for the Kendall-Jackson perennial garden in keeping with the region’s hot, dry summers.

Plants were provided by Muchtar Salzman, owner of Emerisa Gardens in Santa Rosa. Bloom personally selected and placed each of the approximately 1,000 plants, which were planted by members of the garden staffs from Kendall-Jackson and Emerisa Gardens, as well as local volunteers, under the direction of Master Gardener Patricia Rossi.

The Kendall-Jackson Wine Center is open to visitors daily. For information, call 1-866-287-9818 or visit the Web at www.kj.com.
