Yew Dell Gardens Stone Workshop
Stone Workshop featuring Gordon Hayward and Dry Stone Conservancy Class Crestwood, KY
- September 20, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Free with regular admission. Stone demonstrations and exhibits by local contractors, designers, and vendors.
- September 20, 10:00-11:00 a.m. $35 for non-members, $25 for members. Gordon Hayward Lecture – Making the Garden with Stone. From small accents to more ambitious ventures, all will go home with a greater appreciation for stone in the garden and a list of projects to tackle.
- September 19 & 20. Dry Stone Conservancy Hands-On Workshop two-day workshop. A hands-on experience as attendees will work with experienced Conservancy craftsmen to build a dry stone wall at Yew Dell. For registration information, go to the Dry Stone Conservancy website at www.drystone.org.

Yew Dell Gardens Workshop
Hummingbird Workshop Creskwood, KY
Chris Whelan of the JB’s Clean Feeder company will share his years of experience in attracting and feeding hummers. Nationally recognized hummingbird photographer Russ Thompson will provide tips for capturing that perfect snapshot. Brainard Palmer-Ball will conduct a hummingbird banding demonstration. Free with regular admission.

Massachusetts Horticultural Society event held at their Elm Bank location celebrates the finest products from New England fields, farms, gardens and kitchens. Vendor and information booths, specialty foods, live music, children’s crafts, and a train ride. Enjoy The Bressingham Garden designed in 2007 by Adrian Bloom, internationally known plantsman from England.

A full day of information, inspiration and photo opportunities as Adrian Bloom presents a very special press event for garden communicators about plants, gardens and gardening. Adrian and other expert garden staff will lead themed tours, which includes an impressive “river” of Geranium ‘Rozanne’. New and time-tested plants can be seen and a debate will be held with leading names in the press and horticulture on the issue: Are there too many new plants?

MHS Perennial Walks
Massachusetts Horticultural Society’s own Bressingham Garden Wellesley, Mass.
May through October. Each month will focus on individual plants and design concepts. A volunteer group known as “Adrian’s Army” is being formed to help maintain the site. In September, Adrian Bloom will make a trip to MHS for a weekend of special activities, lectures and personal tours of the “Bressingham Garden” (dates and details to be determined).
